The Trailer

Trailer Reaction

For those missing the cowboy crime drama Yellowstone, the wait is almost over. Dutton Ranch is coming to the Paramount Network, and it appears that even with John Dutton gone, drama and chaos are following Rip and Beth Dutton to South Texas. Based on the trailer, Texas is not receiving the Duttons with open arms.

The series is bringing in heavyweights like Annette Bening and Ed Harris. It looks like Bening will initially serve as one of the major adversaries—and she and Harris are not the kind of characters you want to go up against. However, early speculation suggests Harris might actually play a mentor role. As this is only a teaser, many specific plot details remain under wraps.

If fans are worried that Beth and Rip have gone soft, that clearly isn't the case; they seem to be in over their heads amidst a wake of blood and violence. It appears you can take the Duttons out of Montana, but not the Montana out of the Duttons. They remain just as protective and ruthless about their newly acquired Texas ranch as they were of the Yellowstone. Additionally, it’s been confirmed that this show takes place in the same universe and time period as Marshalls, so we may see some character crossovers. It would be a thrill to see Beth reunite with her brother in Texas, even for just an episode or two. Although Yellowstone has concluded, the legacy is alive and kicking.
